Today I read that lee Archer died at 90 years old. I did a portrait of him 7 years ago for Choices Magazine.
He of course was a Tuskegee Airman, during WW11. The New York Times referred to him as a decorated black pilot in an era of segregation. My brief encounter with him was memorable in that he was kind, gentle and openly talked about his exploits.
I will remember him always.
I just finished photographing Fay Wood's sculptures and building her website.
She is such an incredible sculptor. www.faywoodstudio.com
